The 18th annual BET Awards, where African Americans and other American minorities are honoured for their work in acting, music and entertainment, went live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

The BET Awards are named after the Black Entertainment Television saw some great performances this year. Hosted by Jamie Foxx few of the big winners included Black Panther for Best Movie and SZA for Best New Artist. Eight-time Grammy-winning legendary singer Anita Baker was honoured with BET Lifetime Achievement award while Debra L. Lee accepted the award for BET Ultimate Icon.

EXCLUSIVE: The INSPIRATIONAL POETRY SHOW + DINNER with I.M Saani – 2nd Edition

The inspirational poetry show is a unique poetry show aimed at inspiring, educating, entertaining and combatting injustice with the art of Spoken word poetry, Stage play and comedy. It was the first of its kind that hit the Northern Region on the 14th October 2017. The venue was the UDS International Conference Centre and it was filled with over 500 audiences. It was a breakthrough for art in the region despite the downpour that night; it became an epic event worth remembering.

The 2nd Edition of The Inspirational Poetry Show this year comes with dinner. It promises to be an unimaginable epic event. The C.E.O of the budding studio and organizer of this Show, I.M Saani is a passionate and self-motivated poet who makes his ideas give birth to reality, he doesn’t compromise on his audiences’ expectations.

The 2nd Edition for this year’s show will be on the 13th October at UDS Ultramodern auditorium. It will be bigger and beyond expectations. There will be special packages to be delivered to
our audience. The show will be emceed by our beautiful and dignified M.C, Najaat Suhuyini. (Face of Nafti ’18). There will be a spice of cultural performance by a passionate cultural troop to promote the beauty of our Northern Culture.

The show will unveil prolific performers of the genres of arts as the activities for the night. Some of our spoken word performers will be I.M Saani, Gombilla the Poet, Poet Pobee, Ibn Do Gud, etc. There will be duet performances and solo performances whose theme will be geared towards great themes of concern to society and the world. Some of our spoken words performers will have their poems on some of the UN Global Goals. The stage play to be staged is written by I.M Saani and directed by olayemi huby. It is focused on combatting societal injustices, and other myriad issues in society hence the suspicious title, ‘TRAUMAIDOL’’. The outstanding comedian, Chang shinjiin, will do stage comedy.

I keep Recieving Kidnap Threats – Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner has reportedly been receiving kidnap threats.

The ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star made the decision to delete all the photographs she’s put up on social media of her four-month-old daughter Stormi, whom she has with her boyfriend Travis Scott, recently after she began receiving “horrible insults” and frightening claims about abducting the baby.

A source told The Sun Online: “There have been an increasing number of trolls on social media calling Stormi ugly, and throwing out really horrible insults.

“It’s been really upsetting for Kylie, because also some of the comments are direct threats to kidnap her. Some people have commented saying it’s all Kylie’s fault because she has exposed her by putting her on social media.

“The haters have always been there, but just getting way, way worse these last few weeks – and calling out Kylie for being a bad mom.”

The terrifying threats have encouraged the 20-year-old beauty to re-evaluate her security and she’s decided to have protection with her “at all times” from now on.

A source explained: “Kylie is terrified – she’s stepping up security. She hardly takes Stormi out in public but is now making sure that she’s got protection at all times.”

Kylie uploaded a photograph on Sunday (10.06.18) of her cuddling up to Stormi but she had cropped the image so that no one could see the little one’s features.

Fans slammed the businesswoman for “cutting her baby out”, to which Kylie hit back: “Yeah i cut my baby out. I’m not sharing photos of my girl right now. (sic)”

This isn’t the first time she has opted to restrict what’s posted on Instagram.

The young entrepreneur took herself out of the limelight while she was pregnant with Stormi because she wanted to focus on the “next chapter” of her life and, although people were speculating that she was expecting her first child, Kylie didn’t confirm the news until she had given birth to the tiny tot and shared a cute montage online.

Prior to having Stormi, Kylie said she’d quit social media altogether when she became a mother, move out to a farm in Malibu and “live life” without her phone.

I Find difficulty in understanding Anas’ mode of operation- Rev. Badu Kobi Says.

Rev. Emmanuel Badu Kobi, Head Pastor and Founder of Glorious Wave Church International has weighed in on the ‘appropriateness’ of Journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ modus operandi during his investigative pieces.

In an interview on Kofi TV, Prophet Kobi expressed difficulty in understanding Anas’ mode of operation and related his incomprehension to the fact that he had little knowledge about the ‘faceless’ journalists’ work.

Rev Kobi in a calming voice wondered why the investigative journalist would go to the extent of influencing them with items or cash he sometimes presents as gifts only to turnaround calling them bribes.

“If I am being honest, I would say he is the only one who understands his work and what it entails because I do not understand it.

I don’t understand him. The reason is this, I am by myself somewhere, and then you come and influence me and then hand something over to me. If I take it, I don’t think it is wrong. You say someone wants to hand you a gift, what is wrong if I take it. It is supposed to be a gift. For someone to come and influence me and hand something over to me, I would say I don’t understand it. Some call it entrapment,” he said.

His line of reasoning concerning the subject seems to be agreed by many who have doubted the authenticity of Anas’ research.

One of such is Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong who recently launched a full blown attack on Anas, has in not more than one occasion expressed his dislike for the ‘faceless’ journalist, mainly because he believes Anas’ modus operandi is questionable and in most cases illegal.

Mr. Agyapong has accused Anas of being corrupt, a thief amongst several other demeaning allegations and recently released a video (WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMAN) that saw someone he presents as Anas’ negotiating payment terms with some of his ‘victims’.

Rev Badu Kobi however mentioned that although he did not understand Anas’work, the fact that bodies such as the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA) have not reproached him for methods used in any of his investigative pieces proves that there are laws governing his work and he (Anas) knows what he is about.

“With Anas’ job, he knows the laws governing it and so if I comment on it, I may be wrong. He knows his job and what he does. I never hear the GJA talking against him, they seem to support him which makes me believe there are some rules regarding the work he does,” he said.

Prophet Badu Kobi of Glorious Wave International further advised that in order not to make quick judgments and wrongly address the situation, “so long as you don’t understand someone’s job, don’t talk.”

Anas’ latest exposé dubbed “Number 12” which captures many referees and key officials within the association in compromising positions has caused a shakeup in the country’s football.

Mr Nyantakyi was recorded taking a cash gift of $65,000 and negotiating a sponsorship deal with potential investors who turned out to be investigators.

Many were especially disappointed in Mr Nyantakyi who has not more than once successfully debunked rumours about him being corrupt in the past.

Meanwhile, Mr Nyatakyi has since resigned from his post while the police investigate the matter.
