I’ve witnessed Selly’s difficulties and miscarriages; therefore, I’m pleased for her – Luckie Lawson

There is a widespread belief that Ghanaian creatives rarely help one another as they rise together. The announcement that Selly Gally and her husband Stephen Fiawoo, better known as Praye Tietia of Praye fame, recently welcomed twins, however, appears to be a departure from the usual.

The Fiawoos, who have always been honest about their struggles during childbirth, have been happily married for eight years. However, since the start of this week, they have been inundated with congratulations from everyone, particularly their celebrity coworkers.

Following the announcement, which was followed by images of Selly proudly displaying her baby bump, social media was literally awash in enthusiasm.

Actress Luckie Lawson, who is overjoyed for the famous couple that their bundles of joy were born in the United States of America, is one of those who can’t stop sending the new parents well wishes.

Luckie thinks Selly deserves to relish every moment of motherhood because she has endured so much in the past eight years.

“I have witnessed Selly’s difficulties, including her miscarriages, insults, and trolling on social media; it was simply too much. She has not had it easy, so I can only imagine the happiness these children have provided her.

“Most, if not every married woman, expects to have a baby and it can be so disheartening and frustrating if that dream is not coming through. Trust me, motherhood is not a walk in the park. It comes with a lot of challenges but it is rewarding. In this part of our world, if you attain a certain age and you don’t have a child, society looks at you in a certain way, although it might not even be your fault,” she told Graphic Showbiz in an interview last Monday.

The difficulty of birthing in women who have reached menopause is one of the things that annoys Luckie the most.

“Women are not like men who can even have children in their 90s. Some women even have early menopause so you can imagine what such women are going through. The stigma, the name-calling and what have you. So I am delighted Selly has given birth, and to a set of twins,” she added.
